Why I want to be a Student Forever

I think the greatest gift I got in life is to be able to learn, from simple alphabets to the wonders and mysteries the universe holds. What makes me anxious is how time travels so fast and that in two years, I’ll be graduating college. As much as it makes me happy that I’m completing a stage in life, it also makes me sad that it is one end to being a student.

Unrestricted Imaginations
To have a job, earn and to be helpful would be great in life but for reasons I realized today more than ever, I want to be a student forever. I want to wake up in the morning with a purpose, go to the class and learn. I want to keep scribbling on my notebooks everyday with new things. I don’t want to step out of this student life- The feeling is quite like when you don’t want to get out of a favourite outfit even when you have to.
So here are some good reasons why I would want to be a student forever.
1.     To be Allowed to Make Mistakes
Someone once told me in school that I am allowed to make mistakes. I think being allowed to make mistakes is the greatest freedom anyone can ever have and a freedom like this is rare in a world where life doesn’t take a break to undo things.  Being allowed to make mistakes can take you beyond the horizons of learning and having people accept your mistakes is something that I wouldn’t want to lose.

2.     For Friendship

My precious friends
Albus Dumbledore says, “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.” Friendship is not easy but we learn, even by failing sometimes. And somehow, beyond the books we read in school, we learn a great deal about being a friend.

3.     For Adventure
Being a student is being rich-you have all the resources, time, place and help to learn. But there are other things that we do not plan, where we get to explore and experience surprises. Being a student opens doors to adventures.

4.     To Value Time
I think I am best disciplined at school than at home and it’s all about how I stick to time. Being a student keeps you close to the direction of time and because of this, every moment feels worthy and special.

5.     Uniform
Wearing the school uniform makes me feel the sameness we share among all the other friends. I like how we can express ourselves truly in terms of our inner qualities and not by the way we dress.

6.     Student Discount
Walking into a shop, bank or getting a travel ticket with discount is one of the perks of being a student and what’s there not to love about this?

I always get anxious and emotional during the end of every semester and I just can’t imagine how bad it would be when the final one comes.
